Well. Working at Flourish & Blotts has been great so far. Except for one annoyance I really can't complain. I'm surrounded by books all day, and honestly I couldn't ask for more. I wasn't late, Rosier, and I won't be today either.

I managed to get a new job. They needed some help at Flourish & Blotts after.. well, what happened. I didn't want to seem like an opportunist, but it does help that I have a vast knowledge of the literary world. I start tomorrow, which is great. I'm hoping to be back on my feet, earning an income of sorts soon. I can't tell you how much weight has lifted off my shoulders from this prospect. I am not trying to sound as if I'm taking advantage of what happened; truly, I want to help out the store as it has always been a favorite of mine.
I suppose that's all I have to say right now.

Pete, I know you're unbearably busy, but I wondered if you wanted to maybe go grab a pint? Or if you need to take care of your mum, I could help out for a bit? Haven't seen much of you recently, mate. I just wanted to let you know that I haven't forgotten your face.

It would appear as if I've slipped into obscurity over the past several days, however I assure you that plenty has gone on behind the scenes! I fell a bit under the weather, then promptly upon recovery was the biggest birthday bash of the decade. That took even more recovery time. Prongs, did you spike something? Or was that Pads? Wormy, I wouldn't count you out either. In any case, I have learned my limits when it comes to partying.
I've never had so much chocolate cake in my bloody life.

I was deeply saddened by the news of Edgar Bones' untimely death, and the deaths of his family members. It was an unecessary tragedy, and the wizarding world as suffered a terrible loss. I hope the parties responsible are brought to justice, if only so the rest of the family can have any sort of closure.
On the lighter side, Sirius went and got himself a motorbike. I think it's good for him. Gives him a sense of freedom. I just hope that he'll abide by the rules of the Muggle rode. Or at least, pretend to when in the presence of law enforcement. I'd prefer not to have to go bail him out of a Muggle jail for wreckless driving. I think he'll be all right though. It's something fun for him, and gives him a bit of responsibility.

It seems along with a job loss change in careers, I will also be undergoing a change of address. I'll be sticking my name under Sirius Black's on his mailbox. I think it's a wise move. I can help keep him under control, since we all know he can get out of sorts when left to his own devices for too long. Plus, he makes a brilliant cup of cocoa. No one in their right mind could possibly turn that down. I just hope he has enough room for all of my books.
The brutal slaying of that family was so heart-breaking to read about. I.. really don't think there are words that can bring light to the situation, so I will say no more about that.

Living in a time of war is not exactly pleasant, though it does help to keep one's priorities in check. I decided a change in my occupation was in order. More like, I was sacked for taking too many sick days. I don't want to do something I despise everyday, and I have enough saved up to take a little reflection time to decide what I want to do. That's not actually true. Not even a little bit. I feel horrible for those who have lost love ones due to the blind hatred of others in this war. So many innocents have lost their lives, and it's truly disheartening to believe that such hate exists.
All I really want to do right now is curl up under a quilt with a mug of hot cocoa. But even that seems a little selfish.
